Information for Prospective Students

Presently, the University of Florida offers several courses in forensic science for the Undergraduate Student. These include Introduction to Forensic Anthropology and Introduction to Forensic Science.

Students interested in pursuing the master's degree in forensic medicine must first apply to the graduate program in Forensic Medicine. A letter of intent is required of all applicants and should include a specific interest in forensic medicine. The applicant must meet the minimum criteria for admission to the graduate school, prior to consideration for the forensic medicine program. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence through their grade point averages, GRE scores, publications, and/or presentations at regional or national meetings. Letters of recommendation from three individuals who know the candidate, their work and potential for successful completion of the graduate degree are also required with the application packet. Potential students will be expected to have the BA in one of the biological, natural, physical or engineering sciences, though consideration will be given to students who have life experience in related fields such as criminal justice, criminology and/or nursing.
